Other sports

Skoryd has purpose-built scoring for cornhole and darts, but you don't have to wait for us to add your sport. Pick Other Sport when you create a club or an event and you get a simple running-total scorer that works for pretty much anything — pickleball, ping-pong, volleyball, bags variants, backyard games, you name it.

Setting it up

Choose Other Sport as the sport on the new-event form, then give it a Sport name — the actual sport you're running (for example "Volleyball" or "Ping-Pong"). This name is required, it's what your event is labeled with, and win/loss records are tracked separately under it. Once you've created one event with a name, that name becomes a reusable pick for your next one, so your club builds up its own list of sports over time.

In the event's Scoring section you decide how a match ends:

  • Manual finish (the default) — there's no fixed target. Players tap each side's score up and hit Finish whenever the game is over. The higher score wins.
  • Play to a target — set a number of points to win (for example 11 or 25), and optionally require win by 2. The match is ready to finish as soon as a side reaches the target with a valid lead.

Everything else about the event works the same as any other sport: registration, round-robin or bracket scheduling, standings, and the live TV view.

Scoring a match

Tap either side's tile to add points. Common amounts are one tap away; use Edit in the header to set an exact total (handy for a correction), or Undo to step back the last add. The score syncs live across every device that has the match open, so only one person needs to keep score.

When there's a winner, tap Submit for approval — the match then goes to pending approval and isn't final until both sides confirm, exactly like every other sport. See Confirming & disputing scores.

What gets recorded

Other-sport matches record only the final running score — there's no per-round detail. That means they count toward win/loss and event standings, but they don't carry the deeper production stats that cornhole and darts do (points-per-round, etc.).

Each named sport gets its own win/loss leaderboard. On your club's stats page (Club Leaderboard), an Other sports section lists a Singles / Doubles / Teams W-L-Win% board for each sport you've run — so your Volleyball records stay separate from your Ping-Pong records. When we build first-class support for a sport, richer stats come with it.
