Notifications
Skoryd can send push notifications so you don't miss a match that needs your confirmation or an organizer call for help.
What you'll be notified about
- A match needs your confirmation — when a result is submitted from a scoring kiosk, you get a nudge to open the app and confirm it. (Matches scored on players' own phones don't send a push — the in-app banner is the nudge there.)
- Assistance requests (organizers) — when a scorer at your event taps "Request assistance," you're notified so you can head to their board.
A push is just a nudge to open the app. Once you're in, the in-app banners carry the details and the links — tapping a notification opens Skoryd, it doesn't jump you straight to a specific match.
Turning notifications on
On your Dashboard you'll see a Turn on notifications card. Tap Turn on notifications and allow them when your browser asks. You can manage them later from Profile → Edit, under Notifications on this device.
There are two levels of control:
- Notifications on this device — the master switch for push on the current phone, tablet, or computer. A subscription is per device, so turn it on for each one you want.
- Per-category — turn individual types on or off: Match results and Assistance requests. These apply across all your devices.
iPhone & iPad
On iOS, Safari only delivers push notifications to an installed app, not a browser tab. To enable them:
- Open Skoryd in Safari.
- Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
- Open Skoryd from the new home-screen icon and enable notifications there.
Note
If you're an iPhone user in a browser tab and don't install the app, you simply won't get pushes — but the top-of-page banner still tells you when a match needs confirming, so you'll never miss one inside the app.
Signing out
Signing out removes that device's push subscription, so your notifications won't keep buzzing a phone someone else later logs into.
