Wall displays
If your club plays at the same venue every week, you can set each TV up once and leave it. A wall display shows the live scores of whatever event is on its courts, and when one event finishes and the next one starts, it moves over on its own. There's no new link to send between events, and nobody has to touch the TV.
Every event still has its own Live View link for sending to friends and family. A wall display is for the screens that live at the venue.
Setting up a screen
- Open your club's Manage page and choose Wall displays.
- Under Add a screen, give it a Screen name you'll recognise, like Bar TV.
- Choose Which courts does it show? For most clubs that's All courts.
- Tap Add screen.
- Tap Show link on the screen, choose what This screen shows, and open the link once in the TV's web browser (scan the QR code with the device that's plugged into the TV, or tap Copy link).
That's it. The screen keeps showing your club's events until you revoke it.
What a screen can show
The This screen shows choice is the same set of views every Live View has:
| Choice | The screen shows |
|---|---|
| Everything | The full live view: courts, what's next and the standings |
| Just the courts | The court line-up, using the whole screen |
| Everything except the courts | What's next and the standings, or the bracket on a bracket event |
| Just what is up next | The games coming up |
| Just the standings | The standings table |
The choice is part of the link, so pick it before you open the link on the TV. With two TVs, a common setup is Just the courts on one and Everything except the courts on the other. Check-in and final results still take over every screen, whatever you chose.
Which event a screen shows
A screen shows one event at a time: the one being played on its courts. If a game is under way, it stays on that event. When the next event's schedule is ready on the same courts, the screen moves to it, even if nobody has pressed Complete on the one before.
When an event finishes and nothing else is on, the final results stay up for half an hour so the room can see them. When nothing at all is on its courts, the screen says Nothing is being played here right now and switches back on by itself when the next event starts. A screen checks which event to show about once a minute.
Two events at the same time
If your club runs two events at once on different courts (say a social event on Courts 1 to 6 and a competitive one on Courts 7 to 12), give each screen its courts:
- Choose Only some courts when you add the screen (or tap Edit on one you already have).
- Enter the courts. From and To with Fill in courts writes Court 7 to Court 12 for you, or type names separated by commas, like Center Court.
- Tap Add screen (or Save).
That screen then follows whichever event is on those courts. It finds them by name: an event that never named its courts calls them Court 1, Court 2 and so on. If the second event's courts are really Courts 7 to 12, name them that way in the event's settings, the same as you would for court tablets.
A screen shows every court of the event it's on. If a screen is set to Courts 7 to 12 and the event on those courts also uses Court 13, Court 13 is shown too.
Keeping track of screens
Each screen shows when it was last seen, so a forgotten one stands out.
- Edit renames a screen or changes its courts. The TV doesn't need a new link.
- New link gives a screen a fresh link and stops the old one, for a link that got posted somewhere it shouldn't have. Open the new link on the TV.
- Revoke stops a screen. It stops showing scores within a minute.
- Revoke all screens stops every screen at your club at once.
Note
Anyone who has a screen's link can watch it, just like an event's share link. It never shows who has paid, and it never shows the check-in QR code, so a photo of the TV that ends up online doesn't let anyone check in from home.
