Getting help

There are three ways to get an answer, and which one you want depends on what kind of problem you have.

The Help Center

Every article is searchable — use the search box at the top of the Help Center sidebar. It searches the full text of every article, not just the titles, so searching for a phrase you saw in the app usually lands you on the right page.

If you're brand new, start with Getting started and Joining a club.

Support chat

Support chat is a direct conversation with us, inside the app. It's for the people running events — club organizers and organization admins — because almost every question that needs a human is about an event's setup or its results.

Getting help with a specific event

This is the one to use whenever your question is about a particular league or tournament. Open the event and press 💬 Get help with this event.

Starting from the event page attaches the event's details to the conversation automatically — which event, its status, its format and scoring rules, whether a schedule has been generated and how much of it is still to play, how many players are registered. You'll see exactly what's being sent before you write anything. That means the first reply can be an actual answer instead of a round of "which event do you mean?".

Nothing is sent until you press Send message — the button just opens the box, so you can look at the event details, realise you've spotted the problem, and leave without anything reaching us.

You get one conversation per event, so pressing the button again on an event you've already asked about takes you back to the same thread rather than starting a second one.

Sending a screenshot

A picture of the problem is usually faster than describing it. Press 📷 Add screenshot under the message box to attach up to 3 images (PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 5 MB each), on the first message or any reply.

Note

A screenshot often shows more than you meant it to — a roster shows other players' names, and an admin screen can show email addresses. Attachments are stored privately and only the people in the conversation can open them, but it's worth a glance before you send.

Tap any screenshot in a conversation to see it full size, and press Close or Esc to get back.

Answers while you type

As you describe the problem, we look for Help Center articles that match what you've written and show them under the box — both when you're starting a conversation and when you're replying in one. It's only a suggestion: Send is never blocked, and if nothing matches, nothing appears. Opening one doesn't lose what you've typed.

A general question

For anything that isn't about one specific event, open Get help from the menu under your name, then press Start a conversation. You have one general thread, and it stays there for as long as you need it.

Note

If your question is about an event, use the event button instead. The general thread can't attach event details, so you'll end up describing what the button would have sent for you.

Replies

When we reply you'll get a notification, and a Support replied banner appears at the top of the page wherever you are in the app. Your conversations are also listed under Get help any time, with unread ones marked.

Support replies are the one kind of notification you can't turn off — if you've asked us a question mid-event, our answer needs to reach you.

Every conversation shows its state at the top — Open or Resolved — with the button that changes it. When it's sorted, either side can mark it resolved: we can from our end, and you can with Mark resolved. Closing it yourself is worth doing if you solved the problem before we answered — it tells us nobody is waiting any more.

Resolving isn't final. The same button becomes Re-open, and sending another message re-opens the conversation too — so if the same problem comes back a week later you don't need to start a new thread.

If you're a player, not an organizer

Support chat is organizer-only, so the Get help page will point you at the Help Center and the feedback board instead. For anything to do with an event you're playing in — a wrong score, a missing registration, a partner who isn't showing up on your team — ask your club's organizer. They can see the event's settings and scores directly, and they can start a support conversation about that event if it turns out to be something we need to fix.

If your organizers have published a way to reach them, you'll see a Contact an organizer card with their name and their email or phone — on the club page, on the event page, or on the club's About page. Publishing it is each organizer's own choice, so the card only appears where someone has opted in.

Private feedback

Send feedback, in the menu under your name, goes straight to the Skoryd team and nobody else. Use it for anything you'd rather say privately — what you like, what frustrates you, what you wish it did. There's an optional rating from Rough to Great, then a box for whatever is on your mind.

Organizers also get a short form about a specific event they ran — open the event and press 📝 Send event feedback, right below 💬 Get help with this event. It asks how running it went, what worked, what got in the way, and whether you'd run your next event on Skoryd. Every question is optional. If you open it again for the same event, your earlier answers are still filled in and sending replaces them, so you can add something you remembered on the drive home.

You don't have to remember to go looking for it. For a couple of weeks after an event you ran has finished, a blue bar across the top of the app asks how the event went, by name — Tell us opens that event's form, and No thanks puts the question away for good on every device you sign in on. It waits rather than interrupting you the moment the last match is confirmed, because that is usually when you're packing up boards.

We won't ask often. The bar asks about one event — your most recent — and once you've answered or waved it away it stays quiet for a fortnight, however many events you finish in between. Running a league every week doesn't mean being asked every week. If you'd like to say something about a different event, open it and use 📝 Send event feedback any time.

If what you've found is something other people will hit too, post it on Bugs & Feedback instead, where others can see it and vote on it.

Bugs and feedback

Bugs & Feedback takes three kinds of report, and the form asks which one you're sending before anything else:

  • Something's broken — it did the wrong thing, or nothing at all.
  • Something's confusing — it works, but you couldn't tell how, or it surprised you.
  • Something's missing — it can't do something you needed.

Anyone can file one, and it's the better channel when the problem isn't tied to one club or event — a page that won't load, a number that looks wrong, a button that does nothing, a step nobody could find.

Include the page you were on and what you expected to happen. If someone else has already raised the same thing you can add your vote to it, which tells us how many people it affects — and on an idea, how many people want it. The board can be filtered to one kind at a time once there's more than one on it.

Note

Found a mistake in an event that's already finished? Your club's organizers can correct it themselves, and every correction is recorded — see Leagues vs tournaments for how that works and what your club sees afterwards.
