Your account and sign-in

Everything about getting into your account: signing in, resetting a password you have forgotten, and changing your email address or password.

Signing in

Go to Sign in and enter the email address and password you registered with.

If you have installed Skoryd on your home screen, the app keeps you signed in — you should not need to type your password each time.

If you have forgotten your password

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? under the password box.
  2. Enter your email address and tap Send reset link.
  3. Check your inbox for an email titled Reset Your Skoryd Password.
  4. Tap the link, choose a new password, and tap Save new password.

You will be signed in straight away once the new password is saved.

Note

For your privacy, the confirmation message looks the same whether or not that address has an account. That stops anyone using the form to find out who has signed up. If no email arrives, check your spam folder and confirm you used the right address.

The link works once and lasts one hour. If you open it a second time, or after it has expired, Skoryd tells you so and offers to send a fresh one — you do not need to start over anywhere else.

It does not matter which device or browser you open the email in. You can request the link on a laptop and finish on your phone.

Changing your password when you are already signed in

  1. Open your profile and tap Edit profile.
  2. Scroll to the Account card.
  3. Fill in New password and Confirm new password.
  4. Tap Update account.

Password requirements

As you type, Skoryd shows a checklist that ticks off each requirement. A password needs:

  • at least 10 characters
  • a lowercase letter
  • an uppercase letter
  • a number
  • a symbol, such as ! ? # or $

Changing your email address

  1. Open your profile and tap Edit profile.
  2. In the Account card, enter your new address under New email.
  3. Tap Update account.

Heads up

You must click the link in two emails. For security, Skoryd sends a confirmation to your current address and your new one, and the change only takes effect once you have confirmed from both. Clicking just one will look like nothing happened.

Your old address keeps working until both confirmations are done, so you will not be locked out part-way through. The links last 24 hours; if they expire, just change your email again to get a fresh pair.

Signing out

Signing out affects only the device you are using. If you are signed in on your phone and your laptop, signing out of one leaves the other alone — that is deliberate, so ending a session on a borrowed tablet does not log you out mid-event on your own phone.

Signing out everywhere

If you have lost a device, or used a computer you do not trust, open My Profile → Edit profile and use Sign out on all devices. It ends every session, and any push notifications that device was receiving stop with it.

Heads up

This is not instant on the other devices. They can stay signed in for up to an hour before they notice, because each device holds a pass that is valid until it expires. If a device has genuinely been stolen, also change your password — that is the part that stops anyone signing back in.

Downloading your data

My Profile → Edit profile → Download your data gives you a JSON file with everything Skoryd holds about you — your profile, your club memberships, your event registrations, every match you've played, and anything you've sent us like bug reports or support messages.

It downloads straight away; nothing is emailed and nobody has to approve it.

Deleting your account

My Profile → Edit profile → Danger zone. This is permanent.

It deletes your profile (display name, photo, bio, t-shirt size, gender, contact details), removes you from every club you've joined, and withdraws you from any event you're registered for. You're signed out immediately, and your email address is released, so you can sign up again later with the same one if you want to.

Matches you played stay on the record — your slot just shows as TBD. That's deliberate: deleting your games would silently change the stats of everyone you played against.

Heads up

If you own a club, you have to deal with that first. Delete it, or hand ownership to someone else from the club's Settings page — otherwise a club is left with nobody who can administer it. The Danger zone lists any clubs blocking you.

Tip

Grab a copy of your data before you delete, not after — once the account is gone the export goes with it. Exactly what is kept, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Emails Skoryd sends you about your account

You will get a message whenever something security-related changes:

  • Your password has been changed
  • Your email address has been changed

You do not need to do anything when these arrive — they exist so that if a change was not you, you find out immediately. If one turns up unexpectedly, reset your password straight away and get in touch.

Tip

These are separate from in-app notifications about matches and events, which you can turn on and off. Account-security emails are always sent, because they are the warning that someone else may have got into your account.
